The Atomium
Tuesday's session in Brussels has been pretty cool - around 80 to 90 people listened to my talk. Jan blogged.
The chosen topic ("ASP.NET Web Services vs. .NET Remoting") is admittedly a pretty tough one because it appeals to a large number of different people. The audience therefore consisted of folks with very different backgrounds - those who didn't yet work with any .NET technologies were literally sitting next to developers who made extensive use of even the WSE. Programmers who read my book cover to cover were next to folks who didn't work on any distributed applications before. But I guess I succeeded and no matter which background a person was coming from, he/she should have learnt something new at this session.
I normally take quite a bit of pride in never running over time at my conference talks. If the time-slot is 70 minutes, I'll finish in time, all the time. This also means that if you don't give me a restricted time slot, I might talk as long as something's on my mind about the given topic. This turned yesterday's session into a 2.5 hours talk ;)
