Need some more food for thought before PDC? Then prepare for the next meeting of the Los Angeles .NET Developers Group at UCLA!
Future trends in distributed applications: .NET Remoting, Web Services, Messaging and how it all fits together.
Thursday, October 23, 2003 at UCLA Public Policy Hall Room 2214 (Sector G3 on this map)
In this special meeting, Ingo Rammer will talk about current and future trends in distributed applications and how they will affect your solutions and projects. He'll discuss the various approaches and relative merits of .NET Remoting and Web Services, and how asynchronous messaging can greatly improve the usability of your applications and services. You will see what Web Services really are, and what future improvements you will see in this area. If you still think that [WebMethod], HTTP and firewall-friendliness are the core features of Web Services, then you owe it to yourself to attend this talk to see new approaches towards application architecture and design that are equally applicable for small-, mid-, and enterprise-sized applications.
